Dog-Friendly Stays at Hayne Barn Estate

Couples, Hayne Barn Estate, Staycations

We’re delighted to welcome one well-behaved dog to stay in Pheasant Lodge or Woodpecker Lodge from 1st Sept 2026.

As we are surrounding by the Kent countryside, there is plenty for four-legged guests to enjoy.

Whether your dog loves a long country walk, a gentle potter along a canal or simply being outside with you, Hayne Barn Estate makes a wonderful base for exploring together.

There are public footpaths and countryside walks very close by, including routes that begin at the bottom of our drive. The Saxon Shore Way runs through the countryside and along the Kent coast, so you can make your walk as short or as adventurous as you like.

And you don’t necessarily have to plan a huge expedition. Sometimes the best dog walks are the ones where you simply head out, follow a footpath and see where it takes you.

Walk through woodland, meadow and countryside

For a change of scenery, head towards Brockhill Country Park via Saltwood.

This lovely route takes you through woodland, open meadows and peaceful countryside, with plenty of opportunities for your dog to stop, sniff and investigate along the way.

It’s also a beautiful area for wildlife spotting, so take your time and enjoy the surroundings rather than worrying about how many miles you’ve covered.

If your dog prefers something flatter and more relaxed, the Hythe Military Canal is another lovely option. The peaceful towpath makes for an easy-going stroll, with water, wildlife and wide open skies along the way.

Head towards the coast

One of the joys of staying in this part of Kent is having countryside and coast within easy reach.

Head towards Hythe and enjoy the sea air along the promenade. If you’re feeling energetic, you can continue towards Folkestone Harbour Arm, where the atmosphere changes completely from the peaceful countryside around the estate.

A walk with a view

For more energetic walkers and dogs who never seem to tire, the North Downs offer a chance to explore further.

You can also make use of the Kent Connected walking app to discover local routes and plan your adventures before you head out.

If you’ve been out exploring and your dog comes home covered in Kent countryside, we have dog towels provided so you can give muddy legs a clean before settling back into your lodge.

Ready for a countryside adventure?
