Call the Midwife Tour
If you’re a devoted fan of the popular series and have been curious about the filming locations of Call the Midwife, immerse yourself in the world of the show with an official Call the Midwife Location Tour.
In collaboration with the acclaimed television production company Neal Street Productions, our tour stands as the sole experience of its kind globally. Despite the series being set in the East End of London, numerous outdoor scenes are shot at The Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent. Follow in the footsteps of characters like Nurse Trixie Franklin, Sister Julienne, and Dr. Turner, and delve into the genuine locations where the captivating drama unfolds.
Led by your very own costumed Midwife equipped with a photo book and anecdotes about their ‘sisters,’ you’ll explore the Historic Dockyard. Afterward, you’ll have the opportunity to investigate the sets, costumes, and props in an exclusive gallery. Witness how Neal Street Productions magically transforms the 400-year-old Chatham dockyard into the East London setting of the series.
During the tour, you’ll recognize the familiar cobbled streets and structures of ‘Poplar,’ along with iconic spots like the Grosvenor Hotel and ‘Chummy’s Hill,’ where Nurse Noakes memorably learned to ride her bike.
These Call the Midwife Location Tours are available from March to October.
Mother’s Day – Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway – 10th March 2024

The ‘Drive a Train*‘ event for mums will unfold at Hythe Station, allowing her to take command of the regulator and guide a light locomotive to the outer station limits, all under the careful supervision of our seasoned drivers.
Enhance your mum’s day by indulging in Southern Maid’s Luxury Afternoon Tea at Hythe or savor a delightful Ploughman’s Lunch at The End of the Line Restaurant in Dungeness.
